They are closing all their shops because they want you to give them a few thousand in your will. These charities are worth millions these charities should be funded by our own government instead of sending billions across the world to places like Pakistan and India that have more money than the UK.
This is my long standing complaint about charity shops, this has been going on for the last 15 yrs or so. It's shameful, people donate to help those who have no purchasing power, or to help animals. The prices are so elevated that poor people can't afford to shop in them now. I wash, iron and carefully deliver everything, and most of them can't be bothered to say thanks. It's now all about money, not true charity.
BHF were the biggest exploiters of the workfare scheme better known as 'work for your dole'. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence that theit shop managers were bullying these people and continually threatening them with loss of their benefits for the most petty of reasons. I have refised to donate to them since 2013 when I first found about about their nasty practices.
What people don’t realise is that, all the good stuff never goes in the shop, it goes to private contractors and eBay. I knew someone who worked in that area, he’d pick up all the clothes and all the best designer items were taken out to sell elsewhere. It’s nothing more than money laundering, lots of stories about company bosses taking huge bonuses.
Take your stuff to a homeless shelter, give directly to those in need
