My black grandfather was born in 1900 in Mississippi. He went to a HBC. That was the only option he had. He moved to Ohio, got married and worked his whole life at the Postal Service. My Black grandmother worked in a factory. They put my father and 2 uncles through college. At night they worked 2nd jobs cleaning Doctors offices. This was so they could put my uncle through the University of Cincinnati Medical school. He’s now an MD. NO ONE HELPED THEM, THERE WAS NO GOVERNMENT HELP THEN! Black people need to stop making excuses, and WORK my grand parents did it my parents did it and I did it.
Go to a third world country for a week… and then come back to America and you’ll never take it for granted EVER again

When I walked into a Black owned business as a Latino American, I noticed the staff staring at me and keeping an eye on me like they thought I might steal something. I’m sure white people go through this kind of thing too, so it’s frustrating when some Black Americans talk about racial profiling like it only happens to them.
I recently retired from a fortune 500 company as an industrial electrician. I married a hard working woman and we bought a home where we raised three daughters. They all attended college and married college educated , stable, moral Christian men. They all have their own homes in upscale neighborhoods where they are raising my grandchildren. And in the 42 years we've been married my wife and I have been asked on dozens of occasions why we're "acting white". I've always given everyone the same answer. "We never wanted to act white, we wanted to act prosperous. And the way you're acting...How is that working out for you?"
