We should mention that most of these women would still be alive if the police didn't systematically refuse to investigate violence against women, especially Native women (doubtlessly other non-white and poor women too, but in Canada, Native women are in an especially high risk category).
My schools usually put up a red dress and various names and ages of victims of this type of crime it was really soul crushing to read “18 months old: murdered” in 8th grade tbh

Yes this is true as an Canadian we do this for missing murdered indigenous woman and girls and most schools is Canada go on a walk on that day to celebrate that no more indigenous woman are murdered or assaulted that much
