It is almost astonishing how the reporter asks "why shouldn't this people have the right to self determination?". Maybe the same reason why the people in Donbas did not have the right to self determinations or Catalonia or lots of other places. There are two international laws or rights that clash with each other: 1) people's self determination and 2) the territorial integrity. Clearly the west or more specific the US has used both for their own convenience.

The thing that I don't understand about the American Governments strategy is how are we suppose to compete with China without similar massive investments in education and vocational training? How can we compete without the Government organization of labor, and strategic strategy for subsidizing industries? The strength of the Chinese system is due to financial streamlined Government cooperation in private industry. However China is willing to roll the dice with possible corrupt businessman and their tactics, primarily because of constant surveillance and equal punishment for anyone who violates the Ruels. The problem with America is the two tier system of justice that doesn't hold the elites accountable. Trust me if we locked up the responsible people who have defrauded our financial system and ruined the economy, then things would change here too. American corporate greed and privilege has infected our political system and nobody is being held accountable. China Roots out corruption at the highest levels of government and private industry,the banking system ect. China understands that everyone is responsible for the systems success in order for things to work, so nobody is above the Law. America needs to stop trying to engage China in direct aggression and learn to adopt a similar strategy. We must reverse engineer their economic strategy and adapt it to our own highly focused and uncompromising national strategy. Americans and our Government's tactics have left a really bad taste in the mouths of people Globally, and our arrogance has put us in a corner that we are going to have to fight our way out of. I believe that we should expand our territory, reform our education and government, and reinvent our industrial complex to complete once again on a Global level. Trump needs to stop rattling the sword, and make the hardest choice ever! We need to look within ourselves and reform our antiquated system. Stop trying to fight the biggest guy in the world, and expand our base right here in North America. Canadian and Mexican expansion would solve everything. With 468 million citizens, and more access to mineral deposit and aggreculture, a combined economy and currency, things would change real quick within the next 20 years. Think about our competitor's and rise to the challenges.
