If people are "shopping" for countries to go to and claim "asylum", then....
It's a great idea. Send asylum seekers to a safe alternate country where the seekers won't be trying to live off free benefits for the rest of their lives.
No mention of Australia that actually stopped refugee drownings and illegal migration stopped to nearly 0%. In fact, right before mentioning Australia, the expert says these measures dont work. They worked in deterring illegal crossings incredibly well in Australia! Saying its a "far right" idea despite Tony Blair supporting it - including when the British Labour party was the biggest party in the biggest group in the european parliament, the centre-left S&D. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the U.S. Prison Industry lobbied for this. The U.S.'s far right(MAGA) movement helped get some of these "conservative" parties in power all around the world in the last 4 years someone was between Presidencies. 😕
